You might be wondering who exactly "me" is - my name is Dr. Smriti Nayan. Surgeon, mother, & business owner. My first professional love belongs to otolaryngology-head and neck surgery to help pediatric and adult patients. Within this surgical specialty, I have several areas of expertise, including a focus in skin cancer surgery and facial reconstruction which truly is the epitome of trust between patient and surgeon.
I have dedicated more than 13 years to my medical and surgical training, as well as sharing that knowledge in my two books, multiple peer-reviewed publications and at conferences worldwide. I continue to commit to medical education in post-secondary programs.
I am passionate about helping my patients, brightening their day and executing every procedure to the highest level. With all this experience, I knew I had the skill set to open, train and provide aesthetics in a medical spa environment.
This led to the birth of Vive MediSpa.
A full-service Medical Spa located in beautiful Cambridge, Ontario. The word Vive means long live in French (a tribute to the fact that I grew up in Montreal and have a love of French culture)! As a passionate surgeon who cares deeply about responsible and intentional health care for every person, it is a meaningful name for this new journey. Long live your inner and outer beauty and may every person feel that they can be supported in their journey to find it, maintain it, restore it, or rejuvenate it.
As the medical director, the most significant "pillars" that I bring to Vive MediSpa are these:
1. First and foremost I believe in enhancements that nourish confidence and natural beauty inside and out. I care about your inner beauty as much as your outer beauty.
2. Building trusting relationships is pivotal to any medical procedure, especially when people are entrusting the delicate parts of their face and body to someone. That is a tough decision, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. I want every client to feel they can establish and build a trusting relationship with me as their surgeon or their injector.
3. My understanding of facial proportions and how facial areas function allows me to offer a unique perspective. I can preserve and enhance both the form (aesthetics beauty) and consider the functionality (imagine having a beautiful looking nose but you can't breathe out of it).
4. I believe in a team mindset. My team is expertly trained and qualified, artistic and detail-oriented, with big hearts who will compassionately work with you to help you achieve your vision.

I am also a committed wife and mom, and I love being a part of their lives. Balance is not always easy, but I see it as fulfilling. I look forward to sharing what I do with my children and having them as an integrated part of my practice.
Why? Just like my patients or clients, I want my children to know that beauty is from within. Once you learn to love yourself and the beauty within, your outer beauty will glow.
Vive MediSpa may seem like an entirely separate space from my medical practice as an ear nose and throat surgeon, but they are beautifully interwoven in terms of the core values they hold. My goal is to have Vive MediSpa be more than just another cosmetic clinic. I want it to be an experience you cherish, that allows you to feel comfortable, safe and supported in achieving your goals.
