Five Wellness Tips You Need In Your Life

After nearly a full year in quarentine everyone is ready to get back to being the best version of themselves. 2021 is the year of wellness in all forms, physical, mental and professional. Here at Vive MediSpa we put together a few of our favourite wellness tips to get you headed on the right path this year.

Drink Warm Water First Thing In The Morning:

Drinking a warm glass of water in the morning helps your body flush out toxins. The warm water breaks down the food in your tummy and keeps your digestive system in fine fettle. When the toxins are flushed out, it improves your blood circulation as well.

Turn Your Shower Handle To Cold:

Post warm shower turn the nob to cold. Brave we know but turning the temperature down has a copious amount of benefits. Cold-water stimulus has been found to improve circulation, prevent hair and skin from losing natural oils (common in runners) and decrease uric acid levels, which in turn lowers stress.

Dry Brushing:

Dry brushing works by rubbing a dry brush with coarse, natural fibre bristles over your body. This exfoliates the skin, removes dead skin cells and improves the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins through the pores.Which does wonders for your lymphatic system. Dry brushing helps the body release toxins through sweat. The course bristles on the brush stimulate the pores and open them up. This makes it easier for the body to sweat, which reduces the amount of toxins flowing through the lymphatic system.


The How To:

1.Start at your feet and move up your body.

2.Brush your skin using wide, circular, clockwise motions.

3.Use light pressure in areas where your skin is thin and harder pressure on thicker skin, like the soles of your feet.

4.Brush your arms after you have brushed your feet, legs, and mid-section. You should brush upward towards your armpits.

5.After dry brushing, take a cool shower to help remove the dry skin.

6.After your shower, dry off and then consider adding natural plant oil, such as olive or coconut oil, to moisturize your skin.

Lymphatic drainage massage  

Lymphatic drainage massage promotes the circulation of lymph and helps rid the body of toxins and waste materials. It also purifies and regenerates tissues while normalizing organ function, and enhancing metabolism and the  immune system. We know during the pandemic we haven’t had the opportunity to get massages but there are many amazing at home lymphatic drainage massages that you can follow along with. Facial ice roller 

Morning puffiness? We’ve all been there but here at Vive MediSpaSpa we have a secret that helps combat facial inflammation. Facial Ice Rolling, sounds intense but it only takes 10 minutes to notice the difference. Giving you a more defined jaw line,smaller looking pores, decreased puffiness especially under eyes and firmer skin.


How to:

  1. Leave in the freezer overnight

  1. Wash your face and apply your normal skin care routine

  2. Take roller out of the freezer and roll your face in up and outward strokes

  3. Roll out your face evenly for 5 to 10 minutes and you’ll be left with significantly less inflammation and glowing skin
